It is always thrilling learning to play a new instrument and while some people might be excited to be learning to play and try out the violin, you must acknowledge and know that this specific instrument might be one of the hardest and most complicated instruments to learn. Perhaps you would like to be a famous violin player one day or perhaps maybe you just want to learn to play something new. This article will provide some tips and hints for playing the violin so please feel free to read this article before making a decision to start learning to play the violin because it will not be easy or short.

It’s obvious and most common knowledge that the worst and most newbie mistake that violin players make is that they hold the instrument wrong. The violin is very touchy and one wrong stance or even standing the wrong way can turn out to play a very bad sound and it just won’t come out right. One important tip is to remember that the wrist is to be curved. If you have ever played a brand new instrument or tried something new, then you’ll know that the first time you try something or play something, that it sounds awful and this is no reason to get disappointed or to give up but to keep practicing and you will get better. What takes quite possibly the most practice is keeping the fiddle still on your shoulder and not nudging around annoyingly. This may sound weird but you need to hold it loose but not to loose because the sound will be off and you need to hold it tight but not so tight that you’re stuck like a stone.

Remember that this isn’t only important for violin players but people learning to play guiltar also have this same problem where they hold the instrument too tight or too loose and the sound that comes out is oddly off. The first thing you need to check is that your finger nails are cut down to the bone and nothing is sticking out not even a millimeter because if they are, it will throw you off and your sound. You have to lead the bow with your wrist if you want the most effective sound. Do not be too rough with the bow as you lead it with not your fingers but your wrist, because this is the most effective way to get a great sound specially for beginners. The louder the sound you would like, remember to play closer to the fingerboard because the sound is louder the closer you are to it. However, if you would like a more quiet sound, you must play closer to bridge.

Now we have shared with you some violin playing tips and some expert tips for beginners and remember not to be discouraged about playing the violin or learning because it is one of the hardest things to learn and play and comes with a lot of practice just like every thing else.
